The Hackney Advice Forum holds regular meetings to help independent information and advice (I/A) agencies in the borough improve the quality and level of their service to clients by providing support and information on relevant advice issues.
Latest News
Hackney Advice Forum have been involved in steering the Multilingual Advisors Training & Education Scheme (MATES) Pilot project.
This is a scheme designed to improve access to generalist and specialist legal advice for non-English speaking black and minority communities in Hackney. MATES was initially developed by Hackney Advice Forum (HAF) working closely with the Hackney Information and Advice Consortium (HIAC). Earlier this month the scheme celebrated its first generation of graduates. Representatives of London's Turkish, Kurdish, Bengali, Arabic, French and Polish communities were all trained to offer generalist advice within their own language communities via the new Multi-Lingual Advisors Training & Education Scheme (MATES).
