EDN Progress Report

Update on Action Points from the Reach Conference

At the CEN Reach conference in July the EDN workshop produced suggestions and raised issues for the network to address. Here’s an update on how we’re getting on:

  • Addressing the information gap between the Hackney CVS and the voluntary and community sector: the EDN distribution list, for example, to included the e-mail addresses of all those present at the meeting

Status: Done! The EDN newsletter email list goes out to 171 recipients, including all those who attended the Reach EDN workshop

  • The EDN to circulate the EDN Directory pro-forma to all those in attendance

Status: Done! The new EDN Directory is live on the EDN website and is included in this newsletter

  • The EDN directory to be reviewed to make certain that the information sought meets the requirements of the Primes and other possible contractors/partners

Status: Done! The new directory is easier to use and includes staffing numbers, size, specialisms and services.

  • Job Centre Plus (JCP) and Hackney CVS to meet and review VCS priorities and concerns. Job Centre Plus to provide Hackney CVS with information on ‘flexible funding’  and how it might be accessed by the VCS

Status: Booked! We are meeting with JCP next week and will report back to the network

  • The need for Hackney CVS to organise workshops and clinics on the completion of expression of interest forms

Status: In Progress. The network is looking into how to run sessions on EOIs and bids

  •  Hackney Council to support and promote the potential of the VCS and its links with the community

Status: Ongoing We’ve developed a good relationship with Hackney council and work in partnership with them to promote the work of the VCS
