Hackney African Forum AGM 2011

Hackney African Forum held their Annual General Meeting on Friday 15 July at the Metropolitan Business Centre. Thirty Seven people attended all from different African organisations from across the borough.

There were two speakers present on the day Ali Aksoy (Hackney Refugee Forum) & Kristine Wellington (Organisation Development Manager & Children & Young People's Providers Forum Coordinator) Kristine spoke about partnership work and the role of the Management Committee and then Ali went on to talk further about Partnership work, as Hackney Refugee Forum is a lead organisation for migrants Ali talked about the importance of the two organisations collaborating in the future.

During the AGM candidates were elected for the renewed management committee. We would like to congratulate the following people in their new roles:

Chairman – Janet Murungi

Vice Chairman – Danmore Sithole

Secretary – Thomas Bubi

Treasurer – Lombe Mwamba

Vice Treasurer – David Kakonde

The meeting ended with a chance to network and a hot lunch, We look forward to next years AGM!
