Workshops for REACH - Confirmed!
![]()
The workshops for REACH 2011 conference have now been confirmed. The main aim of the workshops are to keep community networks and partners informed about the work we are involved in. We also want to use these workshops to plan for the future work of all the partnership. While you do not need to pre-book for the workshops we do hope you take the time to look at what is on offer and decide what might be most useful to you and your network.
1) Environmental Sustainability
How do we prioritise environmental sustainability in Hackney as a whole and in our organisations? We will explore how to ensure and increase the way sustainability is embedded into wider policy formation and practice. How can this be linked to planning decisions / the built environment?
2) Employment, Training and Enterprise
What is the role now for voluntary/community groups and networks? Looking at new ways of delivering services across health and employment and identifying roles for the voluntary and community sector. This is targeted at organisations working in health and wellbeing as well as those traditionally working in economic development.
3) Advice Services and meeting community needs
Continuing the development of Advice services to meet the needs of local people has been a priority throughout the CEN and the Team Hackney Partnership. What more needs to happen in terms of strategy and practice, for this to become a reality for more Hackney residents? Hear from the Advice Forum what routes there are for community organisations to highlight unmet needs.
4) Using evidence to influence health and well-being policies
Hackney's Joint Strategic Needs Assessment (JSNA) informs the local authority of local people's health needs - but what is missing? A chance for voluntary and community sector groups to hear how the evidence they have is valued and can influence health and well being spending for children, young people and adults.
5) Essential risk assessment tools for child and family wellbeing in Hackney
How can we devise a shared approach to Risk Assessment across the Children and Young People’s Sector for both statutory, voluntary and community sectors? This workshop will explore the key tools and processes used in risk assessment for children and young people and explore the roles and responsibilities of organisations working with families.
