Fuel Poverty

Some 50 people representing the local community, residents organisations and charities came together last week for the CEN meeting on Fuel Poverty. Households are considered to be in 'fuel poverty' if they have to spend more than 10% of their household income on fuel to keep their home in a 'satisfactory' condition.

Held in partnership with West Hackney Parochial Charity, the meeting was organised to identify the key issues and actions that need to be taken in this area. The meeting also shared best practice and looked at available funding for projects.

Participants were keen for this to be the start of more partnership working in this area. A full report of the meeting will soon be posted on this web-site. For more information on what the CEN is doing around Fuel poverty please email: andrea@hcvs.org.uk
