VCS Orgs Unpaid for Single Work Programme support
It has been revealed that Work Programme primes are referring their customers to VCS organisations such as volunteer centres in order that they can help them move closer toward getting a job. However, these VCS organisation are not being paid by the SWP primes and are not part of any supply chain or subcontract. If someone benefits from the work of the VCS and is able to secure a job, it is the primes who will be financially rewarded, not the VCS organisations who they relied on to help get them into work.
London Voluntary Service Council and Gareth Thomas MP are working to bring together case studies from organisations who have had clients referrred to them from Work Programme providers, but who do not have a formal subcontract with a WP prime or tier 1 subcontractor.
Please send any examples you have to steve@lvsc.org.uk.
